About Mariaan

Mariaan holds a Bachelors degree in Social work from the University of Stellenbosch and also attained her Masters degree in Play-based Intervention from the University of Pretoria. She is trained in rendering Gestalt play therapy as a counselling approach to children who present different emotional and behavioural difficulties. Mariaan started her career at DSD Social Development in Robertson, working as a field Social Worker. After this she was a group facilitator at Soetlief where she worked with children from the age of 3 years and up, teaching them the necessary skills to address emotional and social challenges. Following this, she worked at Huis Andrew Murray Child and Youth Care Centre in Wellington as a Social Worker. She is currently working at Community Keepers, where she renders therapeutic services to Primary and High School children at three different schools.
